I started My Social Support Network during COVID. We were all locked down and I wanted to find a way to be able to connect with others, create a community and bring the world to people. Everything you see in the MSSN community now is there because a person with an injury, illness or disability said that it needed to be there.

The question I asked people was, “If you could build the best service for you, what would it be?” I knew people were struggling with feeling isolated, people were not able to go out and see other people and I wanted the suffering in silence to stop. So I asked people who were experiencing the loss of connection to step in an help design the “best service” for them.

Today we have the My Social Support Network specialised programs and community. Everything inside the network was built, created, designed by people who were isolated and lonely through injury, illness or disability for people with injury, illness and disability.

Our mission is to replace isolation with connection and transform setbacks into opportunities for growth and independence.

Will are creating a connected network around the world where social sessions run 24 hours a day 7 days a week in all countries in the world so that if you are feeling overwhelmed in the middle of the night in Australia you could log into the community and join in on a live walking tour of the USA! You could join a book club or chat to people you meet and make friends with.

At MSSN, we’re more than a network — we’re a community built for you by people who have also experienced loneliness, isolation and barriers related to illness, injury and disability. We understand the challenges that come with experiencing a workplace injury, mental illness, or disabilities.

MSSN is a vibrant, innovative space where people lift each other up and find their strength in shared experiences.
