My Social Support Network (MSSN) supports people when ageing, illness, disability, injury or changes in work and retirement have disrupted everyday life, relationships and participation.
Social connection is an important part of health and everyday life
Our approach recognises that health and wellbeing are shaped not only by physical and psychological factors, but also by social connection, routine, relationships and participation.
When those areas are disrupted, people can become increasingly isolated, lose confidence and find it harder to reconnect with the activities, relationships and communities that matter to them.
MSSN provides structured, facilitated support designed to help people strengthen social connection, rebuild confidence and increase participation at a pace that reflects their circumstances and goals.
What MSSN focuses on
MSSN focuses on the social and practical dimensions of recovery, participation and transition , helping people reconnect with everyday life rather than simply attend a session.
MSSN may support people who are experiencing:
- Loneliness or social isolation
- Reduced confidence or participation
- Disconnection following illness or injury
- Changes in routine or social networks
- Transitions through work and retirement
- Difficulty reconnecting with community and everyday activities
Programs can support people experiencing loneliness or social isolation, reduced community participation, recovery following injury or illness, and transitions through work and retirement.
MSSN is not a replacement for clinical treatment, vocational rehabilitation or other specialist services. Instead, it is designed to work alongside other supports where needed.
Our goal is simple: to help people feel more connected, more confident and better able to participate meaningfully in everyday life.
